MORE PROLIFIC

"I am the true grapevine, and

my Father is the gardener.  He

cuts off every branch of mine that

doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes

the branches that do bear fruit so

they will produce even more.

About a month ago I posted how I had

pruned back a rose bush so far I thought

I had killed it.  But because it was very

well rooted it survived.

We have had some brief drought conditions

and so the flowers have a few times tended

to wither, but come right back.

I do not know how many roses a rose bush

will produce.  And watching it very with the

dry conditions I may never know.  However,

I tried to look out the window and count the

roses on that old bush.  Well, I gave up on 

that.  But it must be at least fifty or more flowers

on the bush now.  I don't ever remember so many

on the bush at one time.  [Looks like it will get

pruned again some day.]

Is God pruning out a lot of things in my life

to make me more prolific like that rose bush

is?

GET AWAY FROM THE CROWD

I just had a very pleasant visit from some

out of state family.  We spent several days

doing things together and talking about things

of the Lord, or Spiritual matters.

However after they left I noticed something.

In my spirit I felt drained.  It took a little

while for me to catch on to what happened.

Through the apostle Paul God said;

"Never stop praying."

(1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT)

and I try to do this.

But I have a problem.  I find it hard to 

visit with people and pray at the same 

time.  My problem was that my prayer 

time through out the day was near nile 

and I was drained in spirit.

Even Jesus had to get away from the 

crowds many times to be alone with

the Father.

Consider;

"But Jesus often withdrew to the 

wilderness for prayer."

(Luke 5:16 NLT)

We need to break away from excess

time with people and get with Father

God.  To some of us that only means

to shut the T.V. off.

BEAUTY IN PROCESS

Now that is a real beauty in process.

The really, really smart people tell us that 

absolutely every thing came from absolutely

nothing.

There was so much nothing that it became a

gigantic vacuum that imploded with such

force that it caused a bang so big and forceful

that it formed a few particles of matter.  These

particles of matter of course did the natural 

thing and produced more particles that finally

became something.

Now that building is way, way, way up the 

evolutionary scale.  It already has rocks, tin,

cement and wood.  And, if evolution is true, just 

a few more million years and it will become a 

palace.  That is, if it does not come to life 

and run off first.

GOD'S GPS

I just had a visit from a grand daughter

and her husband.  Her husband had never

been in this state before.  They flew in and

rented a car to get around in

Her husband is a computer programer

or something that I do not understand.

They rented a car with a computer screen

in the dash and he had a hand held device

that he punched numbers or something 

into.

What amazed me was the way the information

he needed to drive to any place was on the 

screen for him to follow.  I live here.  I have 

been to all the places they were going and knew

my way around.  But that GPS thing knew the

area better than I did.  It could tell how many

miles to the next turn.  Then when less that a

mile, even how may feet to the next turn.

He had never been here before.  But by 

following the instructions on that screen

he got around just a well as myself who

has been here about fifty years.

Our lives are much like his visit.  We have

never been here before and we need directions

on how to travel through this life.  God gave

us that information we need for this life.  It

is called the "Holy Bible".  We can follow His

instructions and arrive safely at our destination.

Or, we can ignore His instructions and destroy

ourselves.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart;

do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he 

will show you which path to take."

(Proverbs 3:5,6 NLT)

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

I bought another tube of glue like I 

have used in the past.  I was happy

with the past performance.

But, this time I took time to read the

instructions.  I was doing it wrong.

Yes, it had been working.  But it should

have been working even better.

Do we do that with life?  We find

a way that works - at least sort of.

Then continue living that way?

God gave us the instructions on how

to live in the Bible.  But are living His

way or our own way.

PROOF

Years ago I bought a small patch of woods

just for the taxes on it.  My purpose was 

for a place to get away from it all.  You know,

go hide, get away from it all for a few hours

or camp some.

One of my greatest satisfactions with the 

little place was finding fossils, as the above,

all over the place just laying around on the

ground.  Without any digging or anything I

possibly have picked up a couple of dozen

of these fossils.

I talked to the neighbor who owns a lot of

acreage behind my place.  They have also

found an abundance of fossils on their property.

Enough so that they even had the University

of Arkansas come out and look it over.

[I assume the University had some kind of

an excuse for them being their to fit their

evolutionary THEORY.]

But consider the situation.  The area is 

situated between Clifty and Forum Arkansas.

The elevation is two thousand feet above 

sea level and possibly six hundred miles 

from any sea.

You and I both know that those shells and 

other little things did not crawl up there.

They are the result of what we call Noah's

flood, or the "deluge".

GOD'S WORD IS TRUE.

 

WHAT SOUND DO YOU PRODUCE?

Over many years I have observed something.

Our dogs always barked at some time or other.

Our cats always meowed at least some.

Our ducks quacked.

Our geese honked.

Our goats made their noises,

etc. etc. etc. etc.

Also over the years I have observed a number

of professed Christians.  But, I am still waiting

for the sound of a Christian to come from them.

There are no sounds coming from them that 

would distinguish them from the rest of the world.

Is that God given nature even in them?

Even the thought of a professing to belong

to Christ, but not "possessing" Christ is

scary.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

I would hope this is a totally unnecessary post.

But having an account with Facebook, I see

a lot of stuff from all over the world that is

purely from the evil one.

Of course a good number of my friends are

family members.  Two men in particular are

not even trying to please God in any way.

But they are very vocal about their filthy

life styles.  And, you guessed it, they want

total freedom to say anything they want to

the whole world.

After one of their tirades I could not help

but post the following.

FREEDOM OF SPEACH

Most of you want freedom of speech so

that you can spew your filthy language

and opinions all over the world.

But God said;

“Don’t use foul or abusive language.

Let everything you say be good and

helpful, so that your words will be an

encouragement to those who hear them.”

ARGUE WITH GOD ABOUT FREE SPEECH.

As for me,

I want to be free to speak in a 

way that is pleasing to God.
