TODAY'S PROMISE

"You will experience all these blessings

HOW TO BE BLESSED

The world has never been in such a time of stress

and turmoil.  And if you think it is bad now, just

wait.  It is going to get worse, much worse.  

How do I know?  God said so.

If you do not know what the Holy Bible is teaching,

you do not even know what is going on.  But it is all 

in there.

The direction the world is going now is "scary"

and getting  "scarier".  But the beauty of it is that

God not only tells us what is happening now and

what is going to happen - but how to be ready for

it with his blessing.

Consider this verse:

"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear

the words of the prophecy, and heed the

things which are written in it; for the time

is near."

(Revelation 1:3 NAST)

This verse actually applies to what we call the

book of Revelation.  It is the only book with 

this promise.  Also it is the "scariest" book in

the Bible.  But God does truly bless those who

read it and "heed" it.

The book is full of facts and symbolism.  But

if we "heed" or "obey" what we read this book

is a real comfort because it warns us, directs us,

telling that all that is happening is under God's

control.  Plus promises us a fantastic future if

we will but submit and listen to God's word.

Again:

"Happy is the one who reads this book,

and happy are those who listen to the

words of this prophetic message and

obey what is written in this book!  For

the time is near when all these things 

will happen."

(Revelation 1:3 GNT)  

To be blessed, read it.

TODAY'S PROMISE

"How blessed is he who considers the helpless;

The Lord will deliver him in a day of trouble.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive,

And he shall be called blessed upon the earth;

And do not give him over to the desire of his 

enemies."

(Psalms 41:1,2 NASB)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,

whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes

no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no 

deceit."

(Psalms 32:1,2 RSV)

SOURCE OF BLESSING AND FAVOUR

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

he bestows favor and honor,

No good thing does the Lord withhold

from those who walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts,

blessed is the man who trusts in thee!

(Psalms 84:11,112 RSV)

I do not pretend to know what all this implies.

But to myself,  God as my sun means he is my source.

You know even better than myself that if we did not

have the sun in our little solar system, life for mankind,

animals or plants would be impossible.

Further, Jesus Christ, the "Son" of God is the

source of life, and, the author of creation its self.

God is preparing a city that is coming and we are

told there is no need of the sun or moon because

the glory of God is its light. (Rev. ch. 21)

Not only is God my very source, but he is my

shield or protector and the source of any favor

and honor.

Here is the key.

He does not keep back any good thing from

those who "walk uprightly". That is, those

who live the way he wants them to.  Not to

those who live in the way they want to live.

And, we are blessed if we "trust" in God

for all we do and need..



THE BLESSED PERSON

"Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel

of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD;

and on his law he meditates day and night.

And he shall be like as tree planted by the rivers

of water, that yields his fruit in his season;

his leaf also will not wither;

and whatever he does will prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like chaff

which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly will not stand

in the judgment, nor sinners in the 

congregation of the righteous.

For the LORD knows the way of the 

righteous: but the way of the ungodly

will perish."

(Psalms ch. 1 AKJV) 

THE BLESSED PERSON

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, 

or stand in the way of sinners,

or sit in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
