JESUS DID IT AGAIN

That is some body's shoulder.  I did not want to
make you sick, so I did not show you mine.

You see, I am an old, old, old man.  About the age
of your great grandfather or older.  That means that
a lot like a car with two or three hundred thousand
miles on it, I'm falling apart.

Last night I went to bed feeling good, real good.
Had a good day.  No pain, hunger or anxieties and
had even soaked in the tub a while.  What could
go wrong?

Some time during the night I woke up noticing a
lot of pain in one shoulder, unless I held my arm
just right.  If I moved it at all there was intense
pain.

I do not know what went wrong.  It had not been
injured or strained during the day.  Possibly rolling
around during the night I dislocated something.  I
do not know, but it sure did hurt.

You can image the joy of "trying" to get dressed
this morning with one hand.  While trying to get
my shirt on it was impossible to get that one arm
back far enough to go in the sleeve with out it
"killing" me.

While attempting to get that arm into it's sleeve
and the pain so severe I "begged" Jesus to help
me.  And just about that quick I felt something
snapped, or popped and things when back to
working again.  Even the soreness was pretty
much gone by the time I had my first cup of
coffee.

THANK YOU JESUS.

THE FIRE

This was not the motorcycle, but it was very similar to it.

One of my motorcycle friends sold me an old motorcycle
that had quit on him and he could not get it running again.
I wanted to fix it up for a special purpose.

Now I have to admit, I created my own problem.  The
Scriptures tell us:
"Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling."
(Proverbs 16:18 NASB)

You see, our little motorcycle group would be meeting
just a few days after I got the bike in my shop.  And I
knew my friend would ask me about the bike.  So, I
want to be able "casually" to say, yep, I got it running.
(That was pride.)

The result was I tried a little too hard with starting fluid
etc. to make it fire up.  Well it at least backfired catching
number two carburetor on fire.

There was about half a tank full of gas in it and a
carburetor burning in under it is not good.  So I
tried beating it out with a rag.  That did not work.
Then tried blowing it out with my mouth.  I have
done that on cars and it worked.  But all I did was
singe my lips.

Finally I spotted the fire extinguisher in the shop.
Went over and grabbed it, pulled the pin out and
squeezed the trigger. NOTHING.  It had been
sitting around too long.

Back to beating the fire with a rag.  I was getting
tired and thought about just pushing it out of the
shop and let it burn up.  But my car was sitting there.
And if it was pushed a little farther it would go do
a small incline to the house.

I was wore out and desperate.  In desperation I
cried out loud enough they could hear my in heaven,
"Jesus help me."

The words were barely out of my mouth when he
did.  The fire went out in a couple of seconds.

Do you get the point?
My God hears and answers prayer.

WHAT KIND OF FOOL

WHAT KIND OF FOOL DO YOU THINK I AM?

Images courtesy of: www.Pixabay.com

If I told you the structure above just happened.
It took a long time.  Many years.  But it just
sort of grew there.  It has not finished developing
yet.  But perhaps another hundred years will be
sufficient to complete it's development.

You would tell me I am a fool.
And you would be right.

Or,
the airplane below.
It is more complex.  But it just happened.
It even learned to fly all by it's self.
No help from anyone.

Again you would call me a fool.
And you would be right.

But you want me to believe that the humming bird
below which is much more complex and even has
life came from nothing, but developed over time into
what it is just by chance.

WHO IS THE REAL FOOL?

Nor a son of man, that He should repent;
Has He said, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken, and will He not
make it good?"

GOD KNEW BEST

Many, many, many years ago before you were even
born I was just a dumb kid in high school.  You know,
 that stage of life where all I could think about was;
eating, cars and girls.  Well, maybe the other way
 around.

In high school one year I wanted to take the "physics"
class.  My reasoning was simple enough, maybe I
could learn something to make my old car go faster.
But, the class was full.  I needed one more class so I
let them talk me into taking "typing", maybe because
there was girls in it.

Now I am at the other end of life.  I should have died
ten or more years ago.  But do you know what?  I see
now that "typing" class has been more useful to me
than any class I ever took in high school.  I have
have had hundreds of opportunities to thank God that
I had to take than class rather than the one I wanted to.
God was way ahead of me.
Thank God for that.

MESSED UP LIFE

Why let Jesus Christ fix your messed
up life when instead you could spend
the rest of your life complaining about
it?

PEACE

There’s a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it cannot take away;
Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!

All the world seemed to sing of a Savior and King,
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day,
Blessed Jesus, how glorious Thou art!

This treasure I have in a temple of clay,
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He’s coming to take me some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!

Refrain:
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding, rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely, whispers, oh, so kind:
“I will never leave thee”—Jesus is mine.
