PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD

Pardon me if I brake stride a little on this post today.
But you see, yesterday afternoon I was simply
overwhelmed by the mercy and goodness of God.
You know, when something good happens you just
want to share it with somebody.  And, you are the
somebody.

Yesterday morning I had gone into town for a routine
check up at the oncologist.  Yep, even if we are under
quarantine.   It was hard to understand all the nurses with
their masks on.  But all was well.

Then I came home to an annual "honey do".  That is
a lot of work.  You see, my wife has this area she calls
her yard.  It extends from the house out to the retaining
wall.  You guys will understand this.  It is an area that
needs to be mowed, but being a woman she makes it
into an obstacle course filled with all these plants that
have to be mowed around, trimmed around and weeded.
Then to add to it, years ago she planted a lot of clusters
of pampas grass around the retaining wall.  At least
that helps keep you from falling off over the wall and
breaking your neck.

Now more to the point.  As you understand every spring
all the dead growth in the pampas grass has to be cut off
back to the new growth.  Over the years the pampas grass
has grown bigger and bigger - and I have grown older and
tireder and tireder.

After all the pampas grass was cut back and the old growth
raked up and hauled away to be burned the wife made me
sit down and rest.  Yes I was ready.

But after a short rest, I was ready to go again and went
down to the shop and was loading up a bunch of scrap
wood on the truck to be hauled off.  When it hit me.
Here I was eighty six years old working along and enjoying
it and I should have been dead about seven years ago.
I began to realize how good God had been to me and
it was almost more than I could take.

You see, back probably the last week of July in 2014
I ended up in the Emergency room at the local hospital.
The cause was my body had quit making blood.  A man
is suppose to have a blood count of 15.  But my blood
count was only 5.  Try working with only 1/3 of the blood
you need and you will understand my problem.

From that day until October 25, 2015 I have been in
one hospital or another four times.  And of course a time
or two a week hooked up to a machine living on other
peoples blood.

This is not the point here.  But for a year I lived on other
peoples blood.  And it calls to mind another principle.
If we are going to avoid the fires of and eternal hell,
we need to appropriate the blood of Jesus Christ for
our selves and have the life of God himself instilled
in us.

Back to my point.
I am throughly convinced that all the serums and things
that the doctors gave me are not what healed me.
But that is was the answer of prayer to God almighty.
And God leading me in a different direction than the
doctors were taking me.  I have proven this to myself
several times.

But what ever the cause I want to,

Praise God.

WITH THE EAGLES

Images courtesy of: www.Pixabay.com

This after noon after lunch while walking down the
drive way to my office I looked up and saw some
hawks soaring way up in the sky.  They had some fluffy
white clouds as a back ground making it a magnific
scene.  This drew my heart and mind out in thanks-
giving to my mighty God.

You see, just a couple of years ago I was dying.
My body had quit making blood.  I can assure
you that you have to have blood to live.  If you
don't belive me - try it.

After lots of hospital time that did not do any
thing - but plenty of prayer, God reversed things
in my body and it begin to recover.  Today I have
out lived a normal life span and continue to enjoy
the blessings and strength of God, with specific
answers to prayer every day for each need as it
comes up.

"Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary."
(Isaih 40:30,31 NASB)

A SHORT MEDITATION

"For I am the Lord who heals you."
(Exodus 15:26 NKJV)

Four years ago today [ July 4th. 2013] I was enjoying
the weekend at Fort Rock Family Camp in good health -
I thought.  But it was only a week or two latter that I was
in the emergency room of the hospital.  My body had
quit making blood.  It looked like the end had come.

Yes, I "used" doctors.  When you are dying you will
take all the help God will send your way.  But it is
God who does the real healing.  The doctors can
only "assist" in the healing process. In fact my
oncologist insists God had more to do with my
healing than she did.

Today - at 83 years of age I again am enjoying July
the 4th. - working in my shop on one of the daughter's
car and repairing the son-in-law's lawn mower. In fact,
might even have gone for a motorcycle ride - but it
rained most of the day.

PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR THE
HEALING HE HAS GIVEN THIS OLD MAN.

YOU HAVE BEEN BAITED

Cute little guy isn't he?

This is something that many of you will not understand.
But several different times in my life these little guys
have been a real bother or pain to me.  They can be
very destructive, to say nothing of the germs they can
spread.

Now I am not like most of you.  I do not have the time,
patience or resources to kill them with kindness.  They
would have everything destroyed and germs spread all
around before I could get them stopped that way.
SO,
I have had to resort to "poison".
Just a quicker way to kill them with kindness.

For my circumstances the poison shown above has been
very effective.  For myself the pelleted form has worked
best.

It is hard to see in the image above.  But the word
"palatable" is used regarding this poison.  Now
palatable=
delicious, appetizing, tasty, savory.
So, I bait them with "Tomcat".

When I have to start using this poison to control
a rat situation,  they simply can't get enough of
the stuff.  I have to ration it out or that large bucket
full would be all gone in a few days.

But that is enough.
This stuff has "diphacinone" in it.
The diphacinone is highly toxic and causes
the blood not to clot.

The result is, after a fews day or a week
the rat will hemorrhage internally.  He
will literally bleed to death internally.

Yes, the rat really enjoyed him/her self for
a few days.  But that indulgence killed it.

Do you know you are being baited just like
those rats were.

Most of that palatable stuff that comes
out of Hollywood or from the current
crop of politicians has a spiritual from
of "diphacinone" in it.  You are just eating
it up, and it's killing you.

God tells us to:
"Abstain from every form of evil."
(1 Thessalonians 5:22 NKJV)

i.e.
Don't do it.  Don't even look at it.

But Oh! how we love to watch it
and hear about it.
Even if it is killing us spiritually.

RENEW YOUR STRENGTH

I want to share my experience with you hoping it can be
an encouragement to you.

I have what they call "Aplastic Anemia".   My body just plain
and simple quit making blood a little over a year ago.  God in
his mercy has allowed the medicines to help and my body
seems to be making some blood now.  But  I am still dependent
on frequent transfusions.

But it is "strength" that we want to consider right now.  I lost all
my strength with this sickness.  For a while I was so weak I could
not get out of my chair with out pulling on something or someone
helping me.  Of course any work was out of the question, period.

BUT -

God said,
"...they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,..."
-(Isaiah 40:31 RSV)

Some versions use the word "trust" instead of "wait".  Take your
choice.  And I would stress that I do not feel God gave me that as
a promise.  Simply, he said it.  And I tried to wait, trust, walk with
God looking for an increase in strength.

Strength was very slow in coming, if any at all.   So slow that I was
complaining to God about it.  But, a short time back I got more serious
with God over the issue.  You know, "God, where is this strength you
promised?"

Shortly after that inside of just a few days I felt like my old self.  Did
not feel sickly at all.  No I have not regained all my strength back - yet.

The image above is a garden bed I am working on.  You cannot see
how deep it is.  But what you see in it is old damp horse manure.  It
was loaded the other night and made my little old truck squat down
like a dog doing something on the lawn.  I had to drive home in only
the lower gears.   It was too heavy to get into one of the high gears.

The point I'm making.  Yesterday morning in about two hours I unloaded
that stuff, a shove full at a time, into that garden bed.  Yes, it pretty much
wore me out for the day.  But even two months ago I could not have
thought about doing that little bit.

It's God I'm thanking.    Have you lost your strength?  Turn to the one who
gives life and strength to start with.  Jesus Christ.  Get real close and know
him personally very well.  You will not be sorry.

I SHOULD BE DEAD, BUT...

                    I SHOULD BE DEAD BUT,

"I cried to you for help,
O Lord my God,
and you healed me;
you kept me from the grave.
I was on my way to the
depths below,
but you restored my
life."
(Psalms 30:2,3 GNT)

Over a year ago my body quit producing blood.
I should be under a grave stone like the one above.

Of course I have been seeing doctors -
after praying about it.
And taking their medicines and advice.
And praying about it.

About a month ago within just a few
days I begin to feel like my old self.
The doctors do not offer me any explanation.

I do not know where it will end.
BUT God,
has worked it out so that instead
of being in a hospital bed,

I'M BACK TO RIDING THE MOTORCYCLES
YOU SEE BELOW.

PRAISE GOD.

"But those who trust in the
Lord for help
will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles;
they will run and not get weary;
they will walk and not grow weak."
(Isaiah 40:31 GNT)

PRIORITIES

I HAVE BEEN STARING DEATH IN
THE FACE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS
NOW.

Do I need to tell you that it will change your priorities?

Most of my life I have been sort of a "hot rodder".
But how fast my car is does not matter - now.
In fact, of my several motorcycles,
it does not even matter if they run - now.

The outcome of the world series [What ever that is.]
does not matter.

The size of the house I live in does not matter.
Nor how large or small my bank account is.

When you are looking at death as being just around the
corner, you realize that most of what we think is important
in life is mere frivolous, shallow trivia.

I have more or less lived a "full" life.  I am only 80
years old now.  And if God is willing would like to
do a little more.  But that is in God's hands.

LESSONS.

You may be only one half of my age.  But that does not
mean you will out last me.  How much more of your life
are you going to waste before you stand before the God
who gives you life?

Right now I am living on other people's blood.
The Bible tells us that the life is in the blood.
I will assure you, that is true.

But there is one more fact of life.
Jesus Christ willingly gave his blood for you so
that you can have real life here on earth now and
forever.

You will not make it without the blood of someone
else - the blood of Jesus Christ applied to your life.
Not well now, and certainly not in the life here
after.
