READ THE BOOK

After reading and studying the Bible many years
I have learned that there is a lot of misinformation
about it.  Even a large number of honest, truthful
people hold some wrong teachings about it.

The problem seems to be not the person, preacher
or teacher.  But the fact that they took somebody
else's word for something without checking it out.

READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF. 

The Apostle Paul mentions such people when
he said;

"For some men, straying from these things,

have turned aside to fruitless discussion, 

wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though

they do not understand either what they are

saying or the matters about which they make

confident assertions."

(1Timothy 1:6,7 NASB)

Jesus Christ said it a different way;

"Let them alone; they are blind guides of the

blind.  And if a blind man guides a blind man,

both will fall into a pit."  

(Matthew 15:14 NASB)

READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF.

If you will read the Bible for yourself you will not 

need to read all those other books about the Bible.

But you will have the straight truth for yourself.

Just a personal suggestion.

If possible use a version that uses the same

language that you do.  There is nothing especially

Holy about reading the Bible in some quaint odd

language that no one uses anymore.

I would further suggest that you do not read 

it in a hurry.  But take it slow and easy.  Let

it talk to you.   Ask God to reveal the things 

to you that He wants you to see and understand.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

My wife bought one of these things, what ever

they are.  (It was not this one.)

It was brand new and would not work.  Would 

I take a look at it and see if I could find out 

what was wrong with it.

I ask her why she did not take it back.  Well!, she

had had it for several months and did not have the 

box or the paper work any more.  Please look at it.

O.K.

I did not even know what it was, let alone how to 

operate it.  There was a little lever that said "chop"

in one position, and something else in the other 

position.  But it would not run in either one.

It was even hard to take apart.  I think they have

to come apart just to put "stuff" in them to do what

ever it is you do with them.

After about half an hour of playing with it I found

one little part that did not want to fit down right.

I found out why, if you push down on that little part,

when it is plugged it, IT RUNS.

I think some body did not read the instructions before

throwing them away.

Just like life.

God gave us the instruction manual,

the Holy Bible.  But we will not read it

and wonder why life don't work out right.

HOW TO BE BLESSED

The world has never been in such a time of stress

and turmoil.  And if you think it is bad now, just

wait.  It is going to get worse, much worse.  

How do I know?  God said so.

If you do not know what the Holy Bible is teaching,

you do not even know what is going on.  But it is all 

in there.

The direction the world is going now is "scary"

and getting  "scarier".  But the beauty of it is that

God not only tells us what is happening now and

what is going to happen - but how to be ready for

it with his blessing.

Consider this verse:

"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear

the words of the prophecy, and heed the

things which are written in it; for the time

is near."

(Revelation 1:3 NAST)

This verse actually applies to what we call the

book of Revelation.  It is the only book with 

this promise.  Also it is the "scariest" book in

the Bible.  But God does truly bless those who

read it and "heed" it.

The book is full of facts and symbolism.  But

if we "heed" or "obey" what we read this book

is a real comfort because it warns us, directs us,

telling that all that is happening is under God's

control.  Plus promises us a fantastic future if

we will but submit and listen to God's word.

Again:

"Happy is the one who reads this book,

and happy are those who listen to the

words of this prophetic message and

obey what is written in this book!  For

the time is near when all these things 

will happen."

(Revelation 1:3 GNT)  

To be blessed, read it.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

For over twenty five years I was a technician at a 

Lincoln Mercury dealership.  It would surprise you

 how many people over the years come in with their

cars not knowing how to make something work.

You know why as well as I do.

No body reads the owner's manual.

It is in the manual if you will just read it.

You know, the book the manufacture puts 

in the glove box for your convenience.

Is life not going well for you?

Have you read the manual?

Your manufacture or the giver of your life -

God himself - gave us a owner's manual.

THE HOLY BIBLE.

Do you want your life turned around?

The answer is in that book.

HOW TO GET YOUR PROMISE

"The promises of the Lord can be trusted;

they are as genuine as silver refined

seven times in the furnace."

(Psalms 12:6 GNT)

1. Meditate on God's Promises.

2. Plead the Promises at the throne of Grace.

3. Act in Faith that God Will Perform His Promises.

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY

"Happy is the one who reads this book,

and happy are those who listen to the

words of the prophetic message and 

obey what is written in this book!

For the time is near when all these

things will happen."

(Revelation 1:3 GNT)

 I know.  I know.  I know.
The passage of Scripture quoted above specifically
applies to the book of Revelation.  Or the last book
in The Book.

However, over many, many years I have found the
above quote to be true of the entire or whole book,
that is, the HOLY BIBLE.

It is through the Bible that I have found a joy that
comes from God.  Joy over the blessings and help
I need presently.  And joy over the blessings and
rewards that God has for me in the future.

I am happy over the peace that the Bible brings me.
In the midst of turmoil, anxiety and doubt, this book
gives me the peace about the whole thing that I need.

When life gets tough for me.  When sorry tears at the
very depths of my being.  This book, the HOLY BIBLE,
gives me a comfort that no human being can,

And, it is the only book in the world that can and does
give me the direction I need for my life.  How to live
in a way that is pleasing to God.  Yes, sometimes it
whips me around when I do not live the way I am
suppose to.  And God knows how to get my attention
and yours too if you will permit him to.

Spend some time in the HOLY BIBLE.  Let it talk to
you.  You will be glad you did, and you can be happy,
happy, happy.

"The longer you read the Bible,

the more you will like it;

it will grow sweeter and sweeter;

and the more you get into the spirit of it,

the more you will get into the spirit of Christ."
