TODAY'S QUOTE

"We learned a lesson that morning.  When we arrive
at the end of our own strength it is not defeat, but
the start of tapping into God's boundless resources."

The Heavenly Man.

TODAY'S PROMISE

present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the
earth be removed, and though the mountains
be carried into the midst of the sea;"

IS YOUR LOAD TOO HEAVY?

Image courtesy of:www.Pixabay.com

Is your load to heavy?

I have been noticing something on Facebook lately.
It is almost impossible to believe that so many people
are hurting in life.  Relationships are broken.  Health
is broken.  Dreams are frustrated.  Wrongs have been
done, etc, etc, etc.

Or on the news, accidents, overdoses on drugs and
suicides.  Any way you look at it life is too much in
many cases for people to handle.  Even all the self-
help schemes about how to "tough it out" or take control
of yourself etc., fail.  They at the best are only band aids
over a cancer.

But there is good news.
There is someone who wants to help you out.
God almighty himself wants to help you.
Even best he wants to actually come right into
you and become the strength of your life.

A person needs to realize that Jesus Christ is
the one who gives them life to start with.  But
we have ignored him and gone our own way.

So he came to earth as a man and became a
sacrifice for us.  He died in our place, if we
will accept it.   Then all we have to do is cry
out to him to forgive us and honestly ask Jesus
Christ to come into our messed up life and
take over.

If we will submit to him and allow him to
he will actually come into us as a person
and bring the very strength of God into our
being.

Nothing is too much for Jesus Christ to handle.
Invite him in to take your load off you.

TODAY'S PROMISE

"The Lord is my rock and my fortress,
and my deliverer; my God, my strength,
in whom I will trust; my buckler, and
the horn of my salvation, and my tower."
(Psalms 18:2)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear,
though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be
carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar
and be troubled, though the
mountains shake with the swelling
thereof." (Psalms 46:1 - 3)

HELP IN TROUBLE

"God is our shelter and strength,
always ready to help in times
of trouble.

"So we will not be afraid,
even if the earth is shaken
and mountains fall into
the ocean depths;
even if the seas roar and rage,
and the hills are shaken
by the violence."

"The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge."
(Psalms 46:1-3 & 11 GNT)

WAITING FOR HELP

(Images courtesy of:www.Pixabay.com)

"I said, 'I have worked, but how hopeless
it is!  I have used up my strength, but have
accomplished nothing'.
Yet I can trust the Lord to defend my cause;
he will reward me for what I do."
(Isaiah 49:4 GNT)

Then God said,

"Then you will know that I am the Lord;
no one who waits for my help will be
disappointed."
(Isaiah 49:23b GNT)

RENEW YOUR STRENGTH

I want to share my experience with you hoping it can be
an encouragement to you.

I have what they call "Aplastic Anemia".   My body just plain
and simple quit making blood a little over a year ago.  God in
his mercy has allowed the medicines to help and my body
seems to be making some blood now.  But  I am still dependent
on frequent transfusions.

But it is "strength" that we want to consider right now.  I lost all
my strength with this sickness.  For a while I was so weak I could
not get out of my chair with out pulling on something or someone
helping me.  Of course any work was out of the question, period.

BUT -

God said,
"...they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,..."
-(Isaiah 40:31 RSV)

Some versions use the word "trust" instead of "wait".  Take your
choice.  And I would stress that I do not feel God gave me that as
a promise.  Simply, he said it.  And I tried to wait, trust, walk with
God looking for an increase in strength.

Strength was very slow in coming, if any at all.   So slow that I was
complaining to God about it.  But, a short time back I got more serious
with God over the issue.  You know, "God, where is this strength you
promised?"

Shortly after that inside of just a few days I felt like my old self.  Did
not feel sickly at all.  No I have not regained all my strength back - yet.

The image above is a garden bed I am working on.  You cannot see
how deep it is.  But what you see in it is old damp horse manure.  It
was loaded the other night and made my little old truck squat down
like a dog doing something on the lawn.  I had to drive home in only
the lower gears.   It was too heavy to get into one of the high gears.

The point I'm making.  Yesterday morning in about two hours I unloaded
that stuff, a shove full at a time, into that garden bed.  Yes, it pretty much
wore me out for the day.  But even two months ago I could not have
thought about doing that little bit.

It's God I'm thanking.    Have you lost your strength?  Turn to the one who
gives life and strength to start with.  Jesus Christ.  Get real close and know
him personally very well.  You will not be sorry.

I SHOULD BE DEAD, BUT...

                    I SHOULD BE DEAD BUT,

"I cried to you for help,
O Lord my God,
and you healed me;
you kept me from the grave.
I was on my way to the
depths below,
but you restored my
life."
(Psalms 30:2,3 GNT)

Over a year ago my body quit producing blood.
I should be under a grave stone like the one above.

Of course I have been seeing doctors -
after praying about it.
And taking their medicines and advice.
And praying about it.

About a month ago within just a few
days I begin to feel like my old self.
The doctors do not offer me any explanation.

I do not know where it will end.
BUT God,
has worked it out so that instead
of being in a hospital bed,

I'M BACK TO RIDING THE MOTORCYCLES
YOU SEE BELOW.

PRAISE GOD.

"But those who trust in the
Lord for help
will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles;
they will run and not get weary;
they will walk and not grow weak."
(Isaiah 40:31 GNT)

SOURCE OF STRENGTH

"Don't you know?  Haven't you heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God;
he created all the world.
He never grows tired or weary.
No one understands his thoughts.
He strengthens those who are weak and tired.
Even those who are young grow weak;
young people can fall exhausted.
But those who trust in the LORD for help
will find their strength renewed.
They will run and not get weary;
they will walk and not grow weak."
(Isaiah 40:28 - 31TEV)

A SURE HOPE

"I said,
'I have worked,
but how hopeless it is!
I have used up my strength,
but have accomplished nothing.'
Yet I can trust the LORD
to defend my cause;
he will reward me for what I do."

WHAT REALLY COUNTS

All my life I have wanted to be an expert at something.
Almost anything.  But I never made it.

After a long life (A few months shy of four score years.)
I realized that no mortals are experts at anything.
Some are only better guessers than others.
The only true expert at anything is God himself.

I was not endowed with a lot of strength.
Just sufficient for my task.  The gym might
have been a help.  But that just looks like paying
out good money to work up a sweat, and does
not put any bread on the table.

Riches are fickle and fleeting.
If you watch the news over a period of time
you will notice that riches do not satisfy,
at least for very long.

So what does count????

God said,

"The wise should not boast of their wisdom,
nor the strong of their strength,
nor the rich of their wealth.
If any want to boast,
they should boast that they know and understand me,
because my love is constant,
and I do what is just and right.
These are the things that please me."
(Jeremiah 9:23,24 TEV)

Consequently,
with God's help I want to spend the remainder of
my days becoming better acquainted with God.
That is what really counts.

and he will strengthen you

And the Lord gives us confidence in you,

will continue to do what we tell you.
May the Lord lead you into a greater
understanding of God's love
and the endurance that is given by Christ."
