THE END

Years ago I left the confusion of California and moved
back into the hills for a more sensible life style.  Yes,
into true "red neck" country.  I have been grateful ever
since.

My daughters live in several different states.  Yes, they
have fled from California too.  But they come to visit
their old "dad" once in a while.  Now one of these
daughters is a writer and when she comes to visit dad
she often wants me to take her to some of these old
cemeteries back in the hills.  It has something to do
with her writing.

That of course is the reason for the photo above.   It
is a cemetery in a small community that is not even
incorporated.  And, my daughter wanted to look around
in the "old" part of the cemetery.  This part of the cemetery
is from back in the 1800 hundreds.

One of the things I noticed was that some of the head
stones were simply a rock.  Some of those people were
so poor they could not even afford a real head stone
for their burial.  So that rock you see in the foreground
is the headstone or tombstone or whatever you want.
But, only a rock without a name or date, just a dead
 body in under it.

But notice the tombstone about ten feet behind it.
Wow!  It probably cost a ton of money.

My point is, whether you live in a mansion or are
homeless, we all are going to end up dead.

God himself through the Apostle Paul said:

"For we have brought nothing into the
world, so we cannot take anything out of
it either."
(1 Timothy 6:7 NASB)

But even beyond that God tells us;

"And inasmuch as it is appointed for men
to die once and after this comes judgment,"
(Hebrews 9:27 NASB)

Our concern in life should not be how much money
we can make, or how much fun we can have - But
are we ready for that moment we come to the end
of this life and will have to stand before God, whether
we like it or not.

TODAY'S PROMISE

"So also is the resurrection of the dead.
It is sown in corruption; it is raised in
incorruption.
It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in
glory; it is sown in weakness; it is raised
in power;
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a
spiritual body.  There is a natural body,
and there is a spiritual body."
(1 Corinthians 15:42 -44)

DEAD OR ALIVE?

Is your king, leader, hero or mentor
dead or alive.

Look at how many of these are dead and
in their grave.

and dozens more.

Which one do you admire, pray to or worship?
One dead or alive?

There is one that over come death.  Rose from
the grave and is alive today.

That's;

Jesus Christ.

Why do you waste your time following
the teachings or philosophies of a
dead leader?

THE COMMON DENOMINATOR

Mark Twain
Simone de Beauvoir
Isaac Asimov
Marlene Dietrich
Frank Zappa
Madalyn Murray O'Hair
Douglas Adams
Katharine Hepburn
George Carlin
Alexander McQueen
Christopher Hitchens

And many others.

There are at least five common denominators
among this list:

1. They all were atheist.
2. They all are dead now.
3. They all know now there is a God.
4. They all know there is a devil's hell.
5.  It is too late for them now.

THE DIFFERENCE IS...

The difference is:
If your leader, teacher, prophet or founder is dead -
You only have a "religion".
And a very dead one at that.

But if the leader you submit your self to is
Jesus Christ who is alive and setting
at the right hand of God almighty -
then you are a Christian.

I KILLED IT DEAD

That was a tree or sapling, what ever you want to call it.
It was in the way so I cut it off.

You know what happened.  It sprouted all over and begin
to grow again.  So I cut off all the sprouts.  And as you know
even better than myself.  It sprouted again.

This has got to stop.  Under other conditions I would use a
"come-along", my truck or a sky hook and pull it out - roots
and all.  But you can see it would tear up a bunch of "stuff".
And to spread any poison on it was out of the question.  That
is in a garden bed that is already planted.

I am not smart enough to think of this, so I assume God gave
me the idea.  I drilled a hole down the middle of the "stump"
about four or five inches.  The hole was a size that I could fit
the funnel tightly into.  Then I put bad stuff for plants into the
funnel.  And for several days it just soaked up the bad stuff.

The picture was taken one week later.  And you can see that
the little tree or sapling is dead, dead.  And there is nothing
spread into the garden bed.  Thank God for that.

In this case, that little funnel is a head for that sapling.  And
filling the head with "bad stuff" killed it.

I am no different.  If I fill my head with bad stuff it will kill me
too.  Put the wrong stuff in my big mouth and it will kill my
body.  Soak in the wrong stuff with my eye's or ears and it
will kill me spiritually.

What kind of trash are we putting into our heads?

"In conclusion, my friends,
fill your minds with those things that
are good and that deserve praise;
things that are true, noble, right,
pure, lovely, and honorable."
(Philippians 4:8 GNT)

I SHOULD BE DEAD, BUT...

                    I SHOULD BE DEAD BUT,

"I cried to you for help,
O Lord my God,
and you healed me;
you kept me from the grave.
I was on my way to the
depths below,
but you restored my
life."
(Psalms 30:2,3 GNT)

Over a year ago my body quit producing blood.
I should be under a grave stone like the one above.

Of course I have been seeing doctors -
after praying about it.
And taking their medicines and advice.
And praying about it.

About a month ago within just a few
days I begin to feel like my old self.
The doctors do not offer me any explanation.

I do not know where it will end.
BUT God,
has worked it out so that instead
of being in a hospital bed,

I'M BACK TO RIDING THE MOTORCYCLES
YOU SEE BELOW.

PRAISE GOD.

"But those who trust in the
Lord for help
will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles;
they will run and not get weary;
they will walk and not grow weak."
(Isaiah 40:31 GNT)
