TODAY'S QUOTE

"Prayer as s relationship is probably your best
indication about the health of your love relationship
with God.  If your prayer life has been slack, your love
relationship has grown cold."
- John Piper

FAKE CHRISTIANS

Being born in a "Christian country" does not make you a
Christian.  Being born into a "Christian family" does not
make you a Christian.  Going to a "Christian Church" does
not make you a Christian any more than living in a garage
would make you a car.

Going through rituals, routines or traditions does not make
you a Christian.  It only puts you in the position of those
Christ was speaking about when he said:

"He answered and said to them,
"Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites,
as it is written:
'This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
Teaching as doctrines the commandments
of men.'"
(Mark 7:6,7 NKJV)

Jesus Christ, the very creator of the universe, the
one who gave you life it's self said:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is
born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter
the Kingdom of God."
(John 3:5 NKJV)

A Christian is one who has not only been born
into this world, but in addition been born of the
Spirit of God himself too.

He makes it simple enough.
Recognize that Christ in his love for you died
as a sacrifice in your place - if you will accept
it.
Confess to God your utter sinfulness and need.
Submit yourself to Jesus Christ asking him to
come into you and take control of yourself.

The most scary portion of Scripture I know is:

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out
demons in Your name, and done many wonders
in Your name?"
(Matthew 7:22,23 NKJV)

These folks did lots of "Religious" stuff in the name
of Jesus Christ.  But- he did not know them.  That is.
They never came into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
And without that personal relationship, they plain
and simply are not "Christians".

TRUE SUCCESS

I would bet that you are caught in the same trap
that I often am.  We are not satisfied with the results
of our service for God.  He has done so much for me
and I want to do more for him.

Consider this.

One time Jesus Christ sent out seventy "preachers".
Things went great for them.  They came back a happy
bunch.  We read:

"The seventy returned with joy saying, 'Lord, even
the demons are subject to us in Your name.'"
(Luke 10:12 NASB)

   Can you top that?
Of course you can not or have not.  If you had you
would have let the world know about it.

But how did Jesus respond?

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits
are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are
recorded in heaven."
(Luke 10:20 NASB)

Do you catch that?
Christ is more concerned about our relationship
with him than our service for him.

I need to spend more time loving him and
less "slaving" for him.

EXPERT MECHANICS

As a retired professional auto technician I am constantly
amused by teen age boys and cars.

You have noticed it too.
Let a teenage boy learn a few automobile terms like;
engine, crankshaft, camshaft and piston.  And then
possibly even have had the experience of changing a
tire.  Well, Wow.

Let there be a couple of girls around and the boy
suddenly becomes a full fledged ASE certified auto
technician.  He knows everything and can fix anything.

The same thing is true in "Religion".  And in particular
"Christianity".  Let people learn a few "Christian" terms
or "rituals" and they think they know all about "Christianity".
Or are a "Christian".  Especially if they have gone to "Divinity
School" and learned some big "Christian" words.

What they fail to recognize is that "True Christianity" is
not beliefs or rituals or precepts - But a relationship with
God himself.

The next time you hear someone spouting of about Christianity
consider that their knowledge may only be something out of
their head, not from the reality of a relationship with God.

IT'S NOT THE MONEY

Images courtesy of:www.Pixabay.com

"Better is a little with righteousness
Than great income with injustice."
(Proverbs 16:8 NASB)

You nor I know anything abut the homeless man above,
or the owner of the yacht below.

BUT IF,
when their life is over:
the homeless man above has a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ and is walking a Godly life
but
the owner of the yacht has gained his wealth by injustice,
unfairness or wrong doing.

Then the homeless man will be ten thousand times
better off than the wealthy man.

MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN

This is a couple I know.
I feel their's is a marriage that was made in heaven.

They are fitted for each other like a hand and a glove.
They genuinely love each other.
They have a common God given goal in life.

But you and I know,
that if they don't live together,
their marriage will fail.

There is another marriage being made in heaven.

God of course does things on a grandiose scale.
That is why he created the universe.
That is why he created the earth
That is why he created the human race.

God wants a numberless race of human beings to be his
marriage partner for ever.  From this earth full of people he
is pulling out a people for himself.

You may believe in God.
You may love God.
You may have summited (married) yourself to God.

But if you go your own way and will not live with God daily.
What makes you think your relationship with God
 will endure?
