as helplessly dependent upon
the Lord.”

TODAY'S PROMISE

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me,
for the LORD has anointed me to bring good
news to the poor.  He has sent me to comfort the
brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives
will be released and prisoners will be freed.  He
has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time
of the LORD'S favor has come, and with it, the
day of God's anger against their enemies."
(Isaiah 61:1,2 NLT).

TODAY'S PROMISE

"Seek the LORD while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near.
Let the wicked change their ways
and banish the very thought of doing
wrong.
Let them turn to the LORD that he may
have mercy on them.
Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive
generously."
(Isaiah 55:6,7 NLT)

FISHING WITH JESUS

I do not know what night of the week Simon
Peter and his fellow fishermen were fishing;
BUT IT WAS A MONDAY.

You know what I mean.   Some days are a Monday
even if it is another day in the week.  Nothing goes
right, and we say "It was a Monday."

Simon Peter and his buddies worked hard all
night, but did not catch a thing.  You have had
days that way.  But the story does not end there.

"When he had finished speaking, he said to
Simon, 'Now go out where it is deeper, and let
down your nets to catch some fish.'

"Master," Simon replied, 'we worked hard
all last night and didn't catch a thing.  But if you
say so, I'll let the nets down again.' And this
time their nets were so full of fish they began to
tear!  A shout for help brought their partners in
the other boat, and soon both boats were filled
with fish and on the verge of sinking."
(Luke 5:4 - 7 NLT).

Now that is how fishing with Jesus goes.

One of the things I have learned from this
incident is that I need the blessing and help
of Jesus Christ on anything that I do.

I have learned that IF I start the day off
seeking God's help and blessing - things
go better.  If I start my day off by just jumping
in and going at it - I will have a Monday.
But generally when I start my day off with
Jesus Christ I usually accomplish even more
than I had set out to do.

"Commit your actions to the LORD,
and your plans will succeed."
(Proverbs 16:3 NLT)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"Those who live in the shelter of
the Most Hight will find rest in the
shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my God, and I trust him."
(Psalms 91: 1,2 NLT).

TODAY'S PROMISE

"We tell you this directly from the Lord:  We
who are still living when the Lord returns will not
meet him ahead of those who have died.  For
the Lord himself will come down from heaven
with a commanding shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
First, the Christians who have died will rise from
their graves.  Then, together with them, we who
are still alive and remain on the earth will be
caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the
air.  Then we will be with the Lord forever.  So
encourage each other with these words."
(1 Thessalonians 4:15 - 18 NLT)

righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge, will give me on the day of his return.
And the prize is not just for me but for all who
eagerly look forward to his appearing."
(2 Timothy 4:8 NLT)

"In worship, the worshipper comes to minister
to the Lord, not to receive anything.  It is a

TODAY'S QUOTE

"if the Lord is going to use someone for His
purposes.  He often has to strip away their
dependence on intelligence, education, abilities
and their strengths before He can truly use them.
He has to make them nothing before He can build
them back up again for His service."
