TODAY'S PROMISE

Jesus Christ said;

Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so
that the Father may be glorified in the Son, if you
ask Me anything in My name I will do it."
(John 14:13,14 NASB)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"I am telling you the truth;
those who believe in me will do what I do -
yes, they will do even greater things,
because I am going to the Father.
And I will do whatever you ask for
in my name, so that the Father's glory
will be shown through the Son.
If you ask me for anything in my name,
I will do it."
(John 14:12 - 14 GNT)

"The promises of the Lord can be trusted;
they are as genuine as silver refined
seven times in the furnace."
(Psalms 12:6 GNT)

1. Meditate on God's Promises.
2. Plead the Promises at the throne of Grace.
3. Act in Faith that God Will Perform His Promises.

TODAY'S PROMISE

"And so I say to you: Ask, and you will receive;
seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will
be opened to you.  For those who ask will receive,
and those who seek will find, and the door will
be opened to anyone who knocks.  Would any of
you who are fathers give your son a snake when
he asks for fish?  Or would you give him a scorpion
when he asks for an egg?  As bad as you are,  you
know how to give good things to your children.
How much more, then, will the Father in heaven
give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
(Luke 11:9-13 TEV)

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR

"They were filled with craving in the desert
and put God to the test;
so he gave them what they asked for,
but also sent a terrible disease among them."
(Psalms 106:14,15 GNB)

How many has been the time we just had to have something.
Then it ended up being an unbearable expense,
a head ache,
or an entanglement we regretted?

Years ago there was a song that went something like this,
"I got what I wanted.  But I lost what I had."

We need to beware of our desires.
May they be God directed.

FATHER

Proud of the great granddaughter, of course.  But that is not the reason for this post.

Jordin, that's the girl above, wanted a bunny.  Now if Jordin want's a bunny, grandpa want's her to have a bunny.  And grandpa will move heaven and earth to get her a bunny.   [Providing it does not cost more than about $50.00.  That one was $7.00 plus gas and time.]

But in this little episode God drew something to my attention.    If we have turned to God and been born again.  We have a "Father" in heaven who loves us a whole lot more than my love for a granddaughter.

Now you may not want a bunny.

But remember, Jesus said,
"...I am telling you the truth: the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name."
-John 16:23 (GNB)
