HANDLING WORRY

We are living in extremely difficult times.
Evil people are trying to regulate your life
and my life.  Thy have no regard for the
outcome other than accomplishing their
evil plans which is destroying much for
the rest of us.

There is plenty to worry about.  More than
most of us are capable of handling.  But how
am I to handle those things that are completely
out of my ability to control?

I want to look at how God wants us to handle
worry in our lives.

In the matter of worry God gives us instructions
to those who are his children.   His followers.
His servants.  And they are completely different
than those who are living for self and the Devil.
Those not living for God are the ones who really
have a lot to worry about, in this life and the
one to come.

We have been browsing around in the book
of Philippians and find the following for those
who are "citizens of heaven";

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray
about everything.  Tell God what you need,
and thank him for all he has done.  Then you
will experience God's peace, which exceeds
anything we can understand.  His peace will
guard your hearts and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:6, 7 NLT).

That of course is God's instructions to us through
the apostle Paul.

Now consider his instructions through his
servant of old, King David;

"Give your burdens to the LORD,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to
slip and fall."
(Psalms 55:22 NLT)

An even more important how Jesus Christ
tells us to handle worry.

"That is why I tell you not to worry about
everyday life - whether you have enough food
and drink, or enough clothes to wear.  Isn't
life more that food, and your body more than
clothing?"
(Matthew 6:25 NLT)

Jesus does continue at this point to tell us to
instead of worry, seek first his kingdom and
righteousness.

And last, God's instructions to us through
the apostle Peter;

"Give all your worries and cares to God,
for he cares about you."
(1 Peter 5:7 NLT)

Back to our text in Philippians.  Note
the utter simplicity God gives us regarding
worry.

Don't worry, instead
Pray about everything and
Tell God what you need, then
Thank him for all he had sone for you.

If we will do this, he will give us a peace
that completely exceeds our understanding
and that peace will guide us, if we will let it.

FINDING TRUE PEACE

Peace.  We all want peace.  Even those who want to
kill us want peace - their way.  The longer the world
goes, the less peace there is going to be.

There will be no world peace until Jesus Christ returns
to this world.  He is the "prince of peace."  But, in the
meantime what do we do for peace?

Like nearly every thing else, there are those who offer
us a false peace.  You know, stand on your head until
you faint.  Or, work yourself into a frenzy so you forget
about your problems, etc. etc.

But first we must recognize where peace, real inner
peace comes from.

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the
 Lord Jesus Christ."
(Philippians 1:2 NASB)

True peace only comes from God.

Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, the very
creator of the heavens and the earth, said while
he was here on earth:

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.  Do not let
your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."
(John 14:27 NASB)

This peace he gives to his true disciples.  It is an
inner peace he gives to us that the world cannot
take away.

It comes because ;

"... we have peace with God throughout our Lord
Jesus Christ,"
(Romans 5:1 NASB)

When we turn our lives over to Jesus Christ and
submit our self to him;

"... the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,"
(Philippians 4:7 NASB)

becomes ours.

PEACE IN THE STORM

PEACE IN THE STORM

I have shared with you on this subject before.
But today we are in the middle of another storm in
our little family and seeing the "peace" at work in
the middle of it makes me want to share again.

My wife is much younger than myself.  She is
only 76, but insists on working everyday.  She has
her own little cleaning business and works daily,
but now days has been coming home very tired.

After checking with her doctor they found that part
of her heart was not getting the blood flow it
needed.  So, yesterday was the day to take her to
the hospital to get things "fixed".

She told me two different times before we went
to the hospital that she had complete peace about
the whole thing.  She had placed it in God's hands.
And I could see that.  She was as peaceful and content
as if we were just going out to eat somewhere.

It ended up that she had one artery 100% blocked
and two that 90 some % blocked.  So, if God is
willing they will be installing two "stints" to help
regain the necessary blood flow today.

When I left her at the hospital last night she was
still just as peaceful and content as when we left
for the hospital earlier in the day.

How can this be?
Over forty years ago she begin a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.  She invited Christ into her heart and
submitted to his lordship.  And he has given her "a peace
that passes understanding".

Just a historical knowledge or an intellectual knowledge
of Jesus Christ simply will not do it.  You have to get
into a "real" relationship with him.  Get your knowledge
of him out of your head and down into your heart.

Jesus said,
"Peace I leave with you;
My peace I give to you not as the
world gives do I give to you."
(John 14:27 NASB)

My wife has needed and experienced that peace
may times in the storms of her life.  And you know
that life will bring you storms.  You can have that
same peace.  Get yourself a "Holy Bible" and learn
about the love that Jesus Christ has for you.

FEAR

God has been extra good to me, and I know it.

After all the time I have spent in Hospitals, ER and
doctors waiting rooms I am especially grateful for the
chance to sleep in my own bed.  And I thank God for
it.

But over the last couple of years something else had
crept into my thanksgiving.  I am thankful for being
able to go to bed at night and sleep with out any fear
of what might happen.  Just like it says in Psalms 4:8

"In peace I will both lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety."

Living in a world that seems like it is ready to "blow
up" God's peace is especially appreciated.  And when
I commit my life and ways to Him he gives me his
PEACE.

PEACE

There’s a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it cannot take away;
Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!

All the world seemed to sing of a Savior and King,
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day,
Blessed Jesus, how glorious Thou art!

This treasure I have in a temple of clay,
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He’s coming to take me some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!

Refrain:
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding, rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely, whispers, oh, so kind:
“I will never leave thee”—Jesus is mine.

WHY LORD? WHY?

Many of us have had family members or known of
people who were living for God and a blessing to all
around them, and yet had a premature death.

My own son was that way.  A young man helping his
church and it seemed everyone in the community.  Yet
he was killed in an auto accident.  It was one of the
largest funerals I have ever attended because of his
love for God and all around him.

I could not help but wonder, "Why Lord?"  Why some
one like that instead of an old worn out man like me.

I believe the answer is in the Scripture below.

"The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart;
And devout men are taken away while no one understands,
For the righteous man is taken away from evil,
He enters into peace;"
(Isiah 57:1,2 NASB)

I feel like God gave me my answer.

And peace they will add to you."

LOOKING FOR PEACE

Images courtesy of:www.Pixabay.com

Are you looking for peace, real peace?

It is available - if you search in the right place.

God offers you a real genuine,
heart felt peace.

"You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed
on You,
Because he trust in You."
(Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)

Put your mind on God and trust in him,
and you will have peace.

Keep your mind on yourself,
and you will still be troubled.

SOURCE OF TRUE PEACE.

Only Jesus Christ can truly say,

"Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth,
give I unto you.
Let not your heart be
troubled, neither let it
be afraid."

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?

You know;  deranged, feeble
minded, or show lunacy.

Who do you look up to or admire?
Who do you copy?
images courtesy of; www.Pixabay.com

Consider all of those "stars",
"celebrities","wealthy people"
and guys who spend their
time fighting over a ball.

And you admire them?  You
want to emulate them?  You
would like to achieve what they
have.

You have to be crazy.

Do you not read the paper?  Or watch the News?

Those counterfeit people are not happy.  They
have no peace of mind.

Why do you think they are on drugs, alcohol and
and try to party all the time.   They are not happy
or content.

And you also know that they usually end up in
an early grave.  Lot's of times on purpose.

Do you want real happiness, joy,
peace and contentment?  It is found
by having a relationship with God
who gives you life to start with.
His name is Jesus Christ.  He came
to earth and died for you because
of his love for you.  He want to
give youa real abundant life.

"May God, the source of hope, fill
you with all joy and peace by means
of your faith in him, ..."
(Romans 15:13a GNT)

RECIPE FOR PEACE AND CONTENTMENT

Many years ago one of the greatest kings of all
time; and a man who was pleasing to God gave
us the path to peace and contentment.
he said,

"Lord, I have given up my pride and
turned away from my arrogance.

I am not concerned with great matters
or with subjects too difficult for me.

Instead, I am content and at peace.

As a child lies quietly in its mother's arms,
so my heart is quiet within me.

Israel, trust in the Lord now and forever!"
(Psalms 131 GNT)

A HAPPY NEW YEAR IS POSSIBLE

Images courtesy of:www.Pixabay. com

We live in one of the worst, most evil times of modern
history.  Looking at the news and the way mankind is
going, things look totally hopeless.  A very bleak future.
Wars all around the world.  The very nature of the human
race rebelling against every one and everything.  And a
hatred against anything that is Godly.

Jesus Christ [Remember.  We celebrated his birth about
a week ago.  Though few know Jesus was the reason for
the season.] told us more than two thousand years ago
that this day we live in was coming.  It is here, and it
will get much worse, he said so.
But still;

A HAPPY NEW YEAR IS POSSIBLE.

HOW SO?

A couple of thousand years ago God sent some
real, live, genuine angels with an announcement.

"...but the angel said to them,
'Don't be afraid!
I am here with good news for you,
which will bring great joy to all people.
This very day in David's town your Savior
was born - Christ the Lord!'"
(Luke 2:10, 11 GNT)

That is what we celebrated last week.

But Christ not only told us these terrible days
were coming, but he told his disciples
- of all the ages - that:

"Peace is what I leave with you;
it is my own peace that I give you.
I do not give it as the world does.
Do not be worried and upset;
do not be afraid.  You heard me
say to you, 'I am leaving , but I
will come back to you.'"
(John 14:27,28a GNT)

If we will stop going our own way
and doing our own thing and
turn to Jesus Christ taking him as
our LORD and savior,  giving him
complete control over our lives.
He will give us that personal peace,
joy and happiness that we so
desperately long for.

LET JESUS GIVE YOU A

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

COMFORT IN DEATH

First realize that this Scripture passage is taken out of context.
As it is said, a Scripture taken out of context is a pretext.

This then raises the question who is "good"?
Good according to God, or something that
a person has concocted in their own mind.

In this case it is someone who has been walking and
living with and for God.  And in todays time setting,
that would be someone who has been born of the
Spirit of God.  That is, born again and living with
and for God.

If that describes you,
then this Scripture is for you when  that day comes.

"Good people die, and no
one understands or even
cares.  But when they die, no
calamity can hurt them.  Those
who live good lives find peace and
rest in death."
(Isaiah 57:1,2 GNT)

"Death has nothing terrible which life
has not made so.  A faithful Christian
life in this world is the best preparation
for the next."
- Tryon Edwards

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY

"Happy is the one who reads this book,
and happy are those who listen to the
words of the prophetic message and
obey what is written in this book!
For the time is near when all these
things will happen."
(Revelation 1:3 GNT)

 I know.  I know.  I know.
The passage of Scripture quoted above specifically
applies to the book of Revelation.  Or the last book
in The Book.

However, over many, many years I have found the
above quote to be true of the entire or whole book,
that is, the HOLY BIBLE.

It is through the Bible that I have found a joy that
comes from God.  Joy over the blessings and help
I need presently.  And joy over the blessings and
rewards that God has for me in the future.

I am happy over the peace that the Bible brings me.
In the midst of turmoil, anxiety and doubt, this book
gives me the peace about the whole thing that I need.

When life gets tough for me.  When sorry tears at the
very depths of my being.  This book, the HOLY BIBLE,
gives me a comfort that no human being can,

And, it is the only book in the world that can and does
give me the direction I need for my life.  How to live
in a way that is pleasing to God.  Yes, sometimes it
whips me around when I do not live the way I am
suppose to.  And God knows how to get my attention
and yours too if you will permit him to.

Spend some time in the HOLY BIBLE.  Let it talk to
you.  You will be glad you did, and you can be happy,
happy, happy.

"The longer you read the Bible,
the more you will like it;
it will grow sweeter and sweeter;
and the more you get into the spirit of it,
the more you will get into the spirit of Christ."
-Romanine.
