THE CHOSEN FEW

In The Tract League's
90th Annual Report is this statement
about their tract distributors.

"The Holy Spirit has raised them up.
They are:
 hard to find,
hard to train,
 hard to manage,
and highly independent.
They belong to no one other than Jesus.
They are so single minded
that death threats do not deter them.
And even though they are very poor,
they contribute to the cost of printing
the tracts."

What a reproof to myself.
How about you?

MOURNING VS. PARTYING

"It is better to go to a home where there is
mourning than to one where there is a party,
because the living should always remind
themselves that death is waiting for us all."
(Ecclesiastes 7:2 GNT)

WHY ???

WHY?

The wife's cat seems to always be in my way.

When I get up in the morning it gets in the door
as I come through.  If I am not careful, I'll trip.
When I am at the dinner table, it's hanging around
the table.  If I use the recliner to take a nap, it is on
the floor in front of the recliner.  No matter where I
go in the house, the cat is there.
WHY?

In the picture above.
I was waiting a few minutes before going to the
funeral of a friend.  I looked down and the cat
had gotten in between my feet and settled down.
WHY?

Finally it dawned on me.  The cat wants to be
with me.  Why?, I don't know.  But apparently
it does.

Then the Lord brought something else to my mind.
Why don't I want to be with God as much as the
cat wants to be with me?????????

Some day we will all take a final ride in one of these.
Or something used for the same purpose.  And when
we do - you can be sure that we had better be on a
"first name" bases with our creator and life sustainer.

How much do I want to be with God now?
If I don't want to be with him now, he is not
going to want me with him then.

"So then, submit yourselves to God.
Resist the Devil, and he will run away
from you.  Come near to God, and he
will come near to you.  Wash your hands
you sinners!  Purify your hearts you
hypocrites!"
(James 4:7,8 GNB)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"How precious, O God, is your constant love!
We find protection under the shadow
of your wings.
We feast on the abundant food you provide;
you let us drink from the river of your goodness.
You are the source of all life,
and because of your light
we see the light".
(Psalms 36:7-9 GNT)
