GOD IS WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU

"The LORD said,
I was ready to answer my people's prayers,
but they did not pray.
I was ready for them to find me,
but they did not even try.
The nation did not pray to me,
even though I was always ready to answer,
'Here I am; I will help you.'
I have always been ready to welcome my people,
who stubbornly do what is wrong and go
their own way."
(Isaiah 65:1,2 GNT)

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

Amazing.  Simply amazing.  Unbelievable.

Our old weed eater (whacker or any other name you chose)

gave us trouble one too many times.  So my wife decided

to go buy a new one.  The best quality she could get.

You know how that goes.  I had to take it out of

the box.  Do what little assemble there was.

Gas it, oil it, and get it running for her.

Now I have used weed eaters for years (reluctantly).

And been a mechanic for over one fourth of a century.

So I know how to get these things going.

This new machine did not want to start right.  After all
it had funny starting instructions. So after a lot more
pulling than I want to admit, it started - and the wife did
her thing with it.

I guess to prove a point, I determined to follow the

starting instructions to the letter the next time.

An amazing thing happened.  It started like it is

supposed to.  Now how do you explain that?

God gave us a set of written instructions on how to

live.  It is called "The Holy Bible".

Do you suppose that if we followed his instructions

instead of going our own way -

life might go better for us?

PS.

My wife had the same experience.
She followed the instructions and it started for her,
without my help.

Are not instructions simply amazing?

TODAY'S PROMISE

"Honor the LORD by making him an offering from

the best of all that your land produces.

If you do,

your barns will be filled with grain,

and you will have too much wine to store it all."

(Proverbs 3:9,10 GNT)

"The promises of the Lord can be trusted;

they are as genuine as silver refined

seven times in the furnace."

(Psalms 12:6 GNT)

1. Meditate on God's Promises.

2. Plead the Promises at the throne of Grace.

3. Act in Faith that God Will Perform His Promises.

(William Gurnall)

MY SHELTER

"God is our shelter and strength,

always ready to help in times of trouble.

So we will not be afraid,

even if the earth is shaken

and mountains fall into the ocean depths;

even if the seas roar and rage,

and the hills are shaken by the violence."

(Psalms 46:1-3 TEV)

THE STORM

The day the monster tornado went through Moore,

Oklahoma, we were under the same storm system.

It was getting late in the evening.  It had been dark

for some time because of the overcast.  I was ready

to call it a day.

But then, I happened to look out a window to our

front yard.  It was lit up like daytime.  There was no

yard light out there.  Where was the light coming from?

Then I looked the other direction out the kitchen window -

toward Oklahoma.  This is what I saw.  Just could not

pass the opportunity to shoot it.

"How clearly the sky reveals God's glory!

How plainly it shows what he has done!"

(Psalms 19:1 TEV)

TODAY'S PROMISE

"Do not be afraid - I am with you!

I am your God - let nothing terrify you!

I will make you strong and help you;

I will protect you and save you."

(Isaiah 41:10 GNT)

EVIL VS. RIGHTEOUS

"The strong tower of the wicked comes to ruin,

but the root of the righteous stands firm.

An evil man is ensnared by the

transgression of his lips,

but the righteous escapes from trouble.

From the fruit of his words a man

is satisfied with good,

and the work of a man's hand

comes back to him."

(Proverbs 12:12-14 RSV)
